The Blood Still Flows

AI (Wombo) Crucifix with Blood Flow to a Heart by Crystal A Murray (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)

One day, I was thinking about how time has no effect on God whatsoever. He has no past, present, or future, but instead is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That sameness means we can be kept in His Presence by precious blood for eternity. But what really gets me with that thought is that, as a person kneels in repentance (as I knelt so many years ago), the blood of The Messiah is still actively flowing. For that moment, the crucifixion and resurrection are not past events but rather very present and happening in the here and now.

I’ve heard so many wonderful testimonies of people who did not know Christ, and sometimes didn’t want to know Him, but in a matter of moments, they had a meeting and life changed beyond what they ever thought or expected. For the victories and deliverances to take place in this way, something real has to be actively happening. A person who gives their heart to The Lord has it cleansed in the very moment they sincerely let go and trust God.

Even the Scripture is written in the present tense and says…

Hebrews 3:15 CSB
[15] As it is said: Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.

And also a present cry from Paul to the church at Corinth even though his letter was well past the crucifixion…

2 Corinthians 6:2 CSB
[2] For he says: At an acceptable time I listened to you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.  See, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation!

I pray that someone will read this and honestly reach out to Yahveh Almighty, even if you’re a little unsure, and ask Him to convince you that He is real and is truly a very present help in times of trouble. Believe that His blood is as real today as 2000+ years ago, and let Him pour it over you to set you free from the bondage of sin as He purifies your heart. Today, that blood is flowing freely to whomever wants to receive it, and when you take that step, that very day, the angels in Heaven will rejoice more over your new life than over ninety-nine “perfect” souls.

This powerful song about the blood of Jesus says the words… “It reaches to the highest mountain. And it flows to the lowest valley…. The blood will never lose its power…”

And this fun song says, “When a sinner makes The Lord his choice, that’s when the angels rejoice…”
